Up to mid-2014, Will Roche was Director of Strategy and Regulation at Ervia. Interfacing at Board level for over 20 years, Will has extensive commercial utility experience at group level in strategy, regulatory affairs and finance. He has particular interests in corporate structure, the design and function of corporate centres and in corporate governance. He was Group lead in developing and operating the Ervia enterprise wide performance management system, using the balanced scorecard model. He worked closely with the Ervia CFO in successful international fund raising, and has dealt directly with Ervia credit rating agencies on an annual basis for over a decade.
Will played an active role in designing corporate risk management systems and was a member of the Group Risk Management Committee and the Energy Trading Risk Management Committee. Especially on energy market liberalisation, he has worked on key legislative and economic regulatory issues dealing directly with government, regulatory and other stakeholders in Ireland, Northern Ireland, UK and the European Union. He has extensive experience in corporate economics, project appraisal, corporate level planning and policy within a commercial setting.
Will has served as a director of Gaslink, the Irish Gas System Operator. He holds a B.Comm degree from UCC and is currently completing a Master’s degree in International Public Policy and Diplomacy at University College Cork.
